I have never been political by nature. Politics have always stirred something in me and the result was I got “mad”. Oh yes, I hear some of you saying, “Good, get mad. It will propel you into doing something.” Well, for some this may be true but for me all it did was make me feel wobbly, helpless and fall into a state of fear. So for me, getting mad was not productive.
I gave up on politics, politicians and America. I quit voting. There was no one to vote for. There was no truth. There was no justice. A friend of mine said I was suffering from “Electile Dysfunction” and there was no little blue pill to fix it! For those of you unfamiliar with this term, it means "the inablity to become aroused by any of the choices in an election."
What is the answer? How could I participate in a system that no longer supported “We the People”? How could I be proud to be an American? Our country is in a Budget Deficit, a Savings Deficit, a Trade Deficit and worst of all a Leadership Deficit. This is “my” country. We have become a throw-away society that believes in hand outs instead of hand ups, Health “Care” instead of Health “Maintenance”, legal drugs to numb and mask the symptoms of a failing society, over worked and over stressed. We have technology that could be used to make life simpler and easier and instead we have used it to make life faster and less personal. Many have no regard for their environment, believe fighting a war grants freedom, and hope that “they” will figure out how to fix this. I could go on about the negative state of affairs but that only adds fuel to a fire that I wish to smolder. Even those who have their heads in the sand know we are hanging on the edge of a dangerous cliff.
So, what can be done? Education. This is the purpose for the production of a movie called I.O.U.S.A. http://www.iousathemovie.com/ and a question posed to the panel of 5 intelligent men at the town hall meeting following the initial showing of this movie. In my opinion, the movie did a good job of simply explaining the economics and state of our great nation. It produced clear ideas without generating fear. It talked of actions, solutions and positive results.
In the attempt to keep this at a length that is easily read, here are my notes and highlights from the movie. Please read them and then TAKE ACTION. As I was coming out of the movie theater, someone commented to me, “I sure hope THEY do something about this.” Folks, I am here to tell you there in no “THEY”. WE ARE THE PEOPLE. WE are the ones who must to do something about this. “WE” have blamed the “THEY’S” for far too long, which is why we are her today in this situation. I highly recommend you check the website and find a theater near you that is showing this movie. As you take individual responsibility, the whole becomes stronger. Become part of the solution.
Movie Notes and Highlights: (You can view a copy of the entire Town Meeting at http://www.iousathemovie.com/ at the bottom right hand corner is a link. You can also click on the “take action” and send a letter to your representatives.)
VOTE: Be a good Citizen. Really listen to the candidates and what they are saying. Weed out idle or political promises. Make wise choices. If the politicians elected waiver, keep them accountable. Write to your Representatives, Congressmen and Senators. Let your voice be heard. Remember, our country is founded on “We the People”.
HEATH: Take care of your health. Preventative Health Maintenance is much less costly then the cost of sickness and disease.
SAVE: Do not let the way the government runs their finances be your guide. Show the government how to be financially healthy. Demand that your savings dollars be worth more tomorrow then today. Start now. Save something, anything.
INVEST: Investors earnings are the lowest taxed form of income. Warren Buffet pays less in taxes per dollar then his maid.
UNDERSTAND: The government has no money. Yet, they continue to attempt to bail out the financial troubles of others. Vote in the people that can and will make balancing budgets a priority. Vote in people who can and will keep the government accountable for spending.
HUMAN CAPITAL: Wake up and develop you own potential. WE THE PEOPLE are our greatest asset yet the majority does not live up to their capabilities. Energize your children. They will be President one day. Learn and teach communication and community skills. Realize you are part of a bigger picture and support yourself through supporting others. Become passionate. Become alive.
Ideas from the Panel:
Increase Retirement age of Social Security. We are living longer and we are living younger longer.
Income test Medicare deductibles. Those with higher earnings can afford more.
Make ½ the Social Security benefits as an option for private investments.
Support becoming Self-Insured.
Create an automatic or mandatory savings.
Heath care reform.
Tax reform.
Hold politicians and government accountable.

Recycling - Green Benefits
Here is an article from Yahoo that gives 4 different recycling places that you get paid for specific items. One of them is for electronics and cell phones. So you can help Mother Earth and make a little "green" on the side!

Dwight Eisenhower - 1953 Cross of Iron Speech
...Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than thirty cities... We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than eight thousand people.
This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron....
This speech is 55 years old...what have we learned?

"GO GREEN" Environmental Spot
My sister Diane is an idea person. She wrote me the other day suggesting that I put a spot on the Blog where people can share their recycle/conservation/environmentally conscious ideas. So sis, here it is. I believe her comments were generated by the Plastic Bag power point presentation I have posted on my web site. I am reminded when watching this video that it is not the "bag" that is the problem, but the way in which the consumer uses or "misuses" the bag. I'm sure this statement could be used to reference many things.
So this spot on the Blog can be used to post your ideas. How do you participate in keeping Mother Earth beautiful? What ideas have you implemented that make a difference in our environment? There are so many ways we can support a healthy, conscious planet. The more we share, the more we support one another. Also check out the "Go Green" page on my website for more links and ideas. http://bodymindsoulutions.com/go_green
Here is a great link to "Real Simple" ideas:

Here are a few You tube videos you might find interesting. They are about the garbara in the North Pacific Gyre... commonly known now as "The Garbage Patch". Thank You Anthony, for bringing this to my attention so that we can educate others.

The July 19th Energy Hygiene course was TERRIFIC! I was very honored to have such enlightened people sharing and caring for each other and the world. Energy Hygiene is one way that we can help support a cleaner more generative world and each of these participants were willing to do their part.
Please post your experience here so that others will become aware of the benefits. If you have Energy Hygiene tips you would like to share, they are always welcomed. Know if they are posted here, they are subject to becoming part of the Energy Hygiene book utilized in the class. Please make sure to honor information that has a copyright.
Thank you again for all you do to help support consciousness and energetic cleanliness!
Atma Namaste.
P.S. Many of the books listed in the Carousel to the right are used in the Energy Hygiene course. Salt is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to keep energetically clean along with Pranic Healing sweeping methods.
To find out more, sign up for the October 11th Energy Hygiene class at www.bodymindSOULutions.com/classes_meetings

Barter Anyone?
Okay, after the Energy Hygiene class yesterday a few people were talking and found that they had things that each other needed. They commented they wished they had a place to post these things without having to do Craig's list or E-bay. I told them they could use my blog page so here it is. Make sure items are apporpriate, I know that if I deem them not, I will remove your posting. Also, I am not responsible for assured delivery, condition of items, payments etc. This is between the two of you...make sure you are comfortable with the transaction, or don't do it!
Happy Bartarting!

Gas Prices
It is about 3 months after the original posting of this entry, and gas prices are hovering around $3.85 once again after reaching over $4.00 here in sunny Florida. Of course, we are no longer "in season"!
We have many alternative sources that power autos... have you seen the air compressed cars? cut little things, so instead of pulling into a gas stations and filling up with fuel, you fill up with air! http://www.theaircar.com/acf/
There is also a guy from Clearwater that is taking his discover to Washington... check out the water powered version.. http://www.drivewithwaterfuel.com/?hop=jethro3737
I saw $3.87 the other day and took a deep breath. While other stations are still around $3.72 this was shocking. However, it did give a look at things to come. Then I had to ask myself, "what is this all about". "Where is the GOOD in this". I was quickly answered with, "it is forcing us to discover alternative sources of fuel." How true. Although Bush states the answer is to drill more oil and build more refineries (thus why we are grateful he will be leaving office soon), the answer is to find another way. Mother Earth has provided oil for us for eons of time and maybe she is getting exhausted. I had a friend visit the other day who use to work in the oil fields. He was describing to me how the process works. When he said they used acid to "make mother earth regurgitate", I felt the churning in my own stomach. He stated the acid was like making her sick so that she would throw up....the oil that is. This was such an enlightenment to me about what we are doing and that it is far past time to find other ways. Interestingly enough, there are so many alternatives that are earth friendly, air friendly and people friendly. The only people that would suffer would be those that have been raping, (did i say that?), I mean reaping financial rewards for years. Maybe it is time for someone else to profit and not at the expense of our planet. What do you think?
